Showing Vulnerability is not a Sign of Weakness

Vulnerability is not weakness. It is what allows us to admit what we really want in life. And then — we actually GO for it. How courageous is that?

There are so many things I want in life right now that I am open about — where 1 year ago I would have been way too embarrassed to state it out loud. But the truth is — when I wouldn’t open up about my true goals and dreams I wasn’t letting myself actually work towards them. I felt stuck and frustrated because it felt like other people were achieving their dreams and I was somehow still unfulfilled.

I finally recognized that I really really wanted to be a coach. And that I really wanted to live in Asia. And that I wanted to be an entrepreneur. So when I found the opportunity to study coaching in Singapore — I left my job and moved to Singapore!

I’m not saying it was easy. Believe me — packing up my apartment and moving my cats to live with my Mom was unbelievably emotional and stressful. It. Was. Hard.

But I was so honest about what was working in my life and what wasn’t. And only because I was willing to be vulnerable could I actually start working towards my dreams!

Not only could I take a giant leap outside of my comfort zone, but I could also welcome in love and support from those who care about me most. I admitted where I was scared and needed support — and family and friends from all walks of my life jumped in to encourage me.

When you really think about it, what do you dream of doing secretly — but never actually took a step towards achieving?
